• Awarded the Morris Trophy as the conference’s best offensive linemen in a vote of the conference’s defensive players, marking just the fourth time in school history that a Bruin received that award
• The first-team All-Pac 12 Conference choice was presented the N.N. Sugarman Award for Best Leadership on offense, the Henry R. “Red” Sanders Award for Most Valuable Player on offense and UCLA Captains Award at the team banquet
• Started the team’s first six games at left guard before shifting to left tackle for four games
• Returned to left guard vs. Arizona State and went back to left tackle for the season finale vs. USC and vs. Virginia Tech in the Sun Bowl
• Registered 22 touchdown-resulting blocks, the most in a season by a Bruins blocker since Jonathan Ogden made 23 during the 1995 campaign
• Led the team and ranked second in the Pac-12 with 126 knockdowns
• Cleared the way as the offense averaged 448.1 yards per game

2012
• Made return to the gridiron after serving on a two-year church mission, earning All-American second-team recognition from The NFL Draft Report and Fox Sports-NXT, adding third-team honors from Associated Press and CSBSports.com while starting all 14 games at left guard
• Also saw some action at left tackle during the year, as the All-Pac 12 Conference selection by the league’s coaches recorded 114 knockdowns and 14 touchdown-resulting blocks
• Helped the Bruins could average 466.5 yards per game and amass at least 600 yards in three contests

2009
• The Freshman All-American became the first true freshman in school history to start 13 games in a season and was also the first non-kicker true freshman to start a season-opener on offense at UCLA
• Honorable mention All-Pac-10 Conference choice and was named the co-winner of UCLA’s John Boncheff, Jr. Memorial Team Award for Rookie of the Year
• The left tackle recorded 97 knockdowns and nine touchdown-resulting blocks

HIGH SCHOOL
• Attended Timpview (Provo, Ut.) High School, playing football for head coach Louis Wong
• Started on the offensive line since his sophomore season
• Earned Class 4A first-team All-State honors as a junior and senior
• Helped to lead his high school team to the state championships in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and a state record 36 consecutive wins

• Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West selection
• Named Utah State 4A Offensive Player of the Year in 2008
• Blocked a punt in the 2008 State Championship game which led to a momentum-shifting score
