Outlook
Jake Matthews entered the 2013 college football season as the top tackle prospect in the collegiate ranks. After another great season in College Station, Matthews find himself at or near that very spot a year later.

Matthews, the son of Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews, has helped anchor the Texas A&M offensive line for the past four years. A versatile talent, Matthews moved from right tackle to left tackle before the 2013 campaign, filling the shoes of departed first round pick Luke Joeckel. The Aggies had a fantastic offensive season, ranking fourth in the country in total offense and fifth in total scoring. The Aggies averaged 44.2 points per game, and scored 50 or more points six different times last year.

Considered one of the 'safest' picks in this year's draft, Matthews' talent and lineage are sure to make him an early choice in May's NFL draft. The talented left tackle ranks as high as third on the CBS and Draftek prospect boards, and is in the top five of all the rankings we've been using throughout this draft profile process.
