Hispanic Outreach

¡Viva los Houston Texans!
The Houston Texans have established a solid Hispanic outreach platform by creating many events and partnerships to connect with the Hispanic community, including Hispanic Heritage Day presented by XFINITY at a Texans home game, Hispanic Media Day, a Hispanic fan club, Toros Bravos presented by Verizon, and a partnership with the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

In addition, the Texans have established media partnerships with Univision Radio to broadcast all the Texans games in Spanish on Univision America 1010 AM, Rumbo Newspaper for weekly Texans coverage throughout the year, and Telemundo for a weekly Texans Spanish language TV show during the season.

Read & Rise
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Houston Texans teamed up with NFL Play 60 and Scholastic to host a Read and Rise Program at Worsham Elementary. Texans player DeVier Posey read to students at the school and talked to them about the importance of literacy and having active lifestyles. The Texans presented a check of $5,000 to Worsham Elementary which allowed all 900 students to receive a $5 gift certificate for the Scholastic book fair. The Texans and Scholastic also held a family night where parents learned about the importance of reading to their children while students participated in PLAY 60 drills and a nutrition presentation lead by Texans team nutritionist, Roberta Anding.
