    The 2015 Houston Texans Draft Party presented by Coors Light isThursday, April 30 at NRG Stadium.  The Draft Party begins at 5 p.m. CDT and the 2015 NFL Draft begins at 7 p.m. CDT.

    NFL Network’s draft coverage will be shown on the HD televisions throughout the 100 Level Concourse and Texans Radio on SportsRadio 610 will broadcast live, with commentary and analysis from “The Voice of the Texans,” Marc Vandermeer, and a number of special guests. When the Texans make their first-round pick, fans at the Draft Party will hear from the player first as part of Texans Radio’s live broadcast.

    Texans Ambassadors will be on hand to sign autographs throughout the evening. Texans fans can also get their first glimpse of the 2015 Houston Texans Cheerleaders when the squad makes its debut performance at the event. 

    Young fans can play in the TORO’s Kids Club Zone presented by Kroger, which will feature interactive games, a balloon artist and appearances by TORO and Deep Steel Thunder. Fans can also take photos in Memory Alley located on the concourse.

    As an organization, the Texans make it a priority to give back to the Houston community. This day provides an opportunity to invite Texans fans to volunteer with the team to make a positive change. These organizations work to improve the standard of living for the young people of Houston, which aligns with the Texans mission to be Champions for Youth.

    The Houston Texans are proud to partner with GE and Houston Methodist to launch the Play Safe Moms Clinic just for football moms on May 13th!

    This free clinic will provide moms with the latest safety information in concussion awareness, proper hydration and nutrition to prepare them for the upcoming football season.  These classroom-style instructions and interactive football drills will take place in the Houston Methodist Training Center.

First Down Dads
In 2012, the Texans enhanced the First Down Dads program to create activities and events that provide fathers and their kids with opportunities to spend one-on-one time together. More than 250 participants spent a morning running through football drills with Texans coaches and learning valuable tips on how to be better fathers. The First Down Dads Movie Night was hosted in the Methodist Training Center, where dads and their entire families were treated to a showing of “Air Bud” while enjoying snacks on the practice field.

BEAR
BEARing Gifts is a program that provides children under the care of Child Protective Services (CPS) with Christmas gifts. The Houston Texans players, coaches and staff purchased and provided Christmas presents for 125 children in 2012.

Bike Donation
In 2012, the Texans players and coaches purchased 200 bikes and helmets to be donated to five deserving non-profit Houston organizations just in time for Christmas. 

Halliburton Hometown Heroes
From hundreds of nominations, 10 local charities were chosen for their noble community efforts throughout the season. The three charities who received the most nominations were rewarded with a $5,000 donation from Halliburton. Additionally, each charity chosen received tickets to a home game during the 2012 season, as well as air time on the Houston Texans Radio programs to promote their organizations.

Reliant Energy Scholarship for Champions
In 2012, eight Houston-area student athletes were awarded $5,000 scholarships from the Houston Texans Foundation through Reliant Energy’s Scholarship for Champions Powering Strong Mind and Bodies program. Scholarship recipients are selected based on excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, ethics and community involvement.

Texans Care with Reliant
Volunteers from the Texans organization and Reliant Energy work together for an annual community service event to encourage volunteerism. This year more than 150 volunteers from both companies sorted and packed boxes at the Houston Food Bank, packing thousands of pounds of food for Houston’s hungry families.

Shop with a Texan
The 2012 rookie class shopped with 30 Houston-area youth from the Houston Texans YMCA and the Boys & Girls Clubs. A local Academy Sports + Outdoors provided each child with a $100 gift card to their store. Players assisted the eager children with their purchases while teaching them important lessons on budgeting.

Stars in the Classroom
Through a partnership with First Community Credit Union, 11 Houston-area teachers were nominated by their students for being outstanding in the classroom. Each one was honored at a home game in the 2012 season and had a visit from Texans fullback James Casey to their class to stress the importance of education.

Texans Blood Drive
The Texans team up with The Methodist Hospital System for this annual event.  In 2012, over 400 units of blood were collected to be given out to Methodist centers throughout the Houston area.

TORO Shoots for The STAAR
TORO impacts Houston’s youth by hosting educational assemblies in local elementary schools to show students ways that they can prepare for the STAAR test. Each school is taught to mentally and physically prepare for the test by listening to their teacher, practicing their STAAR strategies, exercising and eating nutritious food. TORO has taught more than 25,000 students at 65 schools how to prepare for the STAAR test. 

TORO’s Training Table
TORO’s Training Table presented by BP is an educational assembly that teaches children about the importance of fitness and nutrition. The program includes TORO interacting with players, cheerleaders and the Texans’ team dietitian via video. TORO has visited almost 50 elementary schools, impacting more than 20,000 students in the Houston area. 

Whataburger Community Player of the Month
Each month during the 2012 season, three Texans players were nominated by a team captain for their exceptional involvement in the community. One winner per month was chosen by fan votes. Each winner and team captain signed autographs in a local Whataburger and received $2,500 for their charity of choice. The 2012 winners were linebacker Darryl Sharpton, safety Danieal Manning, linebacker Jesse Nading, and fullback James Casey. At the end of the season, Manning was voted the Community Player of the Year.
